Franklin is a community of 3,150 and approximately 2.7 square miles. It is bounded by Telegraph Road on the east, Inkster road on the west, 14 Mile on the north. The southern boundary is one-half mile south of 13 Mile Road. It is located in Oakland County Michigan.

Franklin Public Library – The Franklin Public Library serves 3,150 residents living within the Village of Franklin. We are a member of the largest library co-operative in the state, The Library Network, and participate in interlibrary loan and reciprocal borrowing with the other member libraries.

Franklin Historical Society – The facility that houses the Franklin Historical Museum is the previous home of Jenny and Stanley Derwich. If is located at 26165 13 Mile Road in Franklin. Mr. and Mrs. Derwich built the home in 1951. The house was given to the Franklin Historical Society in 1998.

Franklin-Bingham Fire Department – The Franklin- Bingham Fire Department serves the communities of Franklin, Bingham Farms, and Southfield Township since 1937, the members of the Department provide services in the areas of fire response, emergency medical services, and technical response.
