Troy, MI Interior Designer

Troy is a city located in Metropolitan Detroit’s northern suburbs in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The earliest recorded purchases of land in what was known as Troy Township occurred in 1819. A couple of years later a settlement known as Troy Corners was established.  In 1955 Troy was officially incorporated. The beaver is the symbol of Troy, and the city’s main commercial thoroughfare (Big Beaver Road) is named after it. Troy has become a business and shopping destination in the Metro Detroit area, with numerous office centers and the upscale Somerset Collection mall.

Troy Library – In 1959, the Troy City Commission appointed a ten-member Library Committee to establish a library for Troy. The library offers a number of valuable educational resources in the form of books and online resources. Throughout the year the library also hosts a number of community events.

Troy Historic Village – The Troy Historic Village is a collection of eleven 19th and early 20th-century buildings and artifacts that tell the story of southeast Michigan’s rural heritage, from the mid-1800s to the early turn-of-the-century. Visitors can explore three historic homes, a general store, one-room school, wagon shop, church and more. The village is open year round and welcomes visitors from all over the country.

Troy School District – The Troy School District strives to bring out the best in every student regardless of their background. Troy is home to a diverse student population with various interests and identities. The district prides itself on caring for the whole student and bringing out the best in every student both in and out of the classroom. They offer education to all citizens grades kindergarten through 12th.
